2007 Graduate - Ace

Hi,
Here are some pictures of Ace in our home!

Graduates Freya and Norval

Hi Linda!
I just wanted to touch base with you and report how well Freya and Norval (and Harriett) are doing. We are one big happy family - Freya and Norval are tireless. We run them 3-5 miles every day and they still have tons of energy to play. I think Freya is full grown at this point (she weights 53 lbs.) Norval is still growing - he's very muscular and lanky and last time I weighted him, he was approximately 55 lbs. Mike and I are recently engaged, which is also more exciting news. I hope all is well with you and I will continue to keep in touch!

2007 Graduate Sydney (formally Cleo)

Hi Linda,

I just wanted to give you an update on Cleo, whom we renamed Sydney. We have had her for over a week now and she seems to be adjusting well to her new home and to her two new sister cats (Skylar and Summer). We bought her a new bed and some new doggie shirts which she loves to wear. She has warmed up very well to new people (even to some children!!). My partner and I took her to an outdoor graduation party yesterday and she was the center of attention. We are planning to take her camping for Memorial Weekend in Michigan so we'll learn how good of a traveler she is. I am attaching some pictures of her in her new home.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to expand our family with such a precious dog. By the way, I just wanted to let you know that the foster family, especially Anne, have been wonderful. I have never owned a dog before and she has been very helpful in giving me tips in getting Cleo to adjust and just supportive in general. We are even planning to set up some meeting dates in the future so that Sydney can visit with them.

If I learn of anyone looking to adopt a dog in the future, I will certainly send them your way!

Thanks,
Kristen

2007 Graduate Chingo (formally Astro)
Hi Linda, Greg and Janet,
Well, Chingo (Astro) is home and enjoying his new brothers. Their introductions to each other were uneventful-he laid down on his back and let our other dogs sniff him, then jumped up and he and Ollie started acting like best buds. Chase (our elderly greyhound who has cancer) tolerates him well, and seems happy to have Ollie occupied with Chingo. He's not sure what to think of our farm critters-he stands and barks at the horses, donkey and goat! He is trying to play with the barn cats, but so far they just hiss at him! They will need some time to get used to each other. The cats will probably just avoid him for a while, as they have lots of places they can get to where he can't reach them. The ride home from Indiana was very long, but Chingo was a real trooper. He slept most of the time. He is going to his first obedience class tonight (with Ollie). I've taken him on a few walks with a leash; we work on walking next to me and sitting on command for a city block or so, then I let him go and explore, then we do it over again. Now is a great time to start training, but I know he's just a pup and his attention span is short. He seems to enjoy it. So far he's coming well when off-leash when we call him over. I always have a treat ready for that! We'll keep you updated as things progress and send you pictures in the mail. Have a great day!

2007 Graduate Maddie

My husband and I had the privilege of adopting Madeleine Marie (Maddie) on March 11, 2007 from your rescue. Maddie must have had some pretty big events that made her afraid of being alone. However, after much love and consistent training we couldn't be happier (we think she feels the same).

Thanks to all of you that volunteer and save the lives of these very special friends. We can't imagine not having Maddie with us now!

Sincerely,
Mike and Paula
